Dear Aggies,

So much is happening on campus – the forsythia is blooming, the new building is rising, and the students are preparing for A-Day (and soon, finals).  As the new alumni director, I am still learning amazing things about Delaware Valley College and its history.  Thank you for welcoming me so warmly, and I hope to meet you at A-Day!

Connect with DelVal!

Thank you, Alumni Association leaders!

The Alumni Association supports DelVal in many ways. One of the most critical efforts is through our three Alumni Association scholarships, which put the cost of attending DelVal within reach for deserving students.  If you know a student who might benefit from one of these scholarships, send the young person our way!  Deadline is May 1, 2013.

One of our 2012 scholarship recipients, Alexandra “Alex” Heigh ’13 (pictured with Ray Funkhouser ’72), expressed her appreciation to the alumni who donated to DelVal. “I am very appreciative of the award I received. This semester I became the president of EDGE, the design club on campus, and look forward to being a senior next semester and continuing my education in Environmental Design.” Alex worked with another student, Logan Hall ’13, to produce a presentation for her “Soils Class” with Prof. Larry Hepner ’74. Check out a video on YouTube.

Want to help DelVal while adding a leadership credential to your resume?  Run for a spot on the Alumni Executive Committee!  Contact Lynn Carroll at to learn more about the great work accomplished by these dedicated alumni, or to get a nomination form to recommend another alumnus.

Nominate your favorite alumnus for an award!  To be eligible for an alumni award, an individual must be a graduate or attendee of Delaware Valley College or it predecessors, have demonstrated loyalty to the College, have made a significant contribution in his/her chosen field, participated actively in the community and professional organizations, and must be a consistent DelVal supporter.  To recognize someone you admire, email for a nomination form.  Award recipients must be present at Homecoming.

…to lacrosse alumni!  On March 23rd, about 20 DelVal lacrosse alumni come out for the first-ever alumni vs. student lacrosse game. Thanks to John Schaffer ’09 and current players for organizing the event - and nice stick work, guys!

…to the Delaware Valley College Dairy Society for a successful Green & Gold Sale on April 6. Special thanks to Josh Sanders ’03 who helped prepare for the sale, Matt Puskas ’10 who donated breakfast, and Stephanie Brewer ’13 whose family at Brewer Farms donated all the hay for the animals!

…to DelVal’s hunt seat equestrian team, which clinched a spot in the team competition at Nationals!

…to Dr. Josh Feldstein, who turned 92 years young on April 12.
